QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION AND DISCUSSION

  1. How much of the time is a television set on in your home?
  2. What are your family and your personal top choices of channels?
  3. What changes would you like to see in yours or your family’s television viewing habits?
  4. What use might be made of the information above?

IMPLICATIONS

  • Television continues to be one of the major influences in the life of a child. How it influences a family and its adults is more difficult to determine.
  • When polled, most families and young people say they would like to view less television.
  • It is important for all of us in an electronic age to give thought to our viewing habits.
