Brief Description: 

Texas Interfaith Disaster Response seeks to coordinate emergency and long-term recovery efforts among a variety of faith-based organizations, government agencies, and private businesses.  The group meets weekly and involves numerous agencies from across the city, facilitating communication, information exchange, and helping to avoid duplication of services.  Their Communication Center serves as a vital link between evacuees and community agencies working to assist them.  In addition, the Communication Center has trained and mobilized 250 volunteer chaplains to provide emotional and spiritual care to evacuee families.
