Privacy policy

There are two competing principles when it comes to what privacy the people in your organisation are entitled to.

  • The right to some privacy in, for example, private emails (if permitted by Equipment usage policy) or phone calls.
  • The requirements of local law on the retention of data for purposes of law enforcement, for example, they may need access to all your emails.

The situation varies by country, obviously.

We need some informed people to summarise the situation in various countries here...
