Equipment Usage Policy

Equipment usage policy

From MissionTechWiki

If you haven't got a policy on how people working for your organisation are allowed to use PC, phones etc. then you ought to have one so that people know where they are. It could cover these areas:

  • Private phone calls. Are these allowed? If so, when? Are people expected to pay for calls they make? How do they do this? How do they find out how much it actually cost?
  • Emails. What are the rules for using organisational email addresses for private purposes?
  • PCs. What non-work things are people allowed to use PCs for? What about storing personal data on PCs, or Office Servers
  • Printers. How much printing are people allowed to do without paying? How do they pay if they want to? How much?
