Brief Description :
The Taft Avenue Transformation Project works to improve life in the Taft Avenue neighborhood by helping students and families. The program includes home visits, ESL classes and community social events. In the schools, the program provides tutoring and mentoring for the students as well as support and appreciation for the teachers. The students’ grades are significantly improving and the neighborhood has been made safer: drug and crime rates have fallen by 40%.
