Youth Worker/Children's Ministry Teachers

Description
The Children Ministry Teachers will provide comprehensive leadership and oversight for all children related ministries (birth - 12th grade) as well as promote and establish effective working partnerships between church leadership and parents for the overall spiritual formation of their children and family. In addition, the children's ministry is the primary advocate and driver for strengthening families and equipping parents. This will be our source for internal hires for the new preschool to begin Fall of 2011.
Requirements:
The applicant should be a person of deep personal, biblical faith and integrity with at least 1 year of experience in Children and Youth Ministry. She/He needs to be formally educated and possess a current and broad, working knowledge of Scripture, Child Development, and Family Systems. The candidate needs to be able to relate authentically to others and work effectively in teams as well as lead a varied program that includes supervising other staff members. The position requires the ability to be innovative and adaptable to change while at the same time patiently working through the processes of a newly established church. Communication skills are a must.

Short Term Mission Trip Details
Additional Details:
•Complete a CM application AND a personal interview with the CM Director.
•Attend regularly scheduled Teacher’s Meetings/appropriate trainings.
•Attend the alternate adult service on a weekly basis.
•Arrive 20-30 minutes before service time.
Job Description:
•Prepare with prayer.
•Over see the general tone, order, and safety of the room.
•Come early to oversee the set up and stay late to supervise the clean up.
•Periodically check sign-in sheets and take a head count.
•Maintain classroom activity format and direct other CM Workers.
•Oversee and direct discipline and safety procedures (communicate with the parents and coordinator any particular discipline problems or special highlights of class).
•Communicate any supply restock or staffing ratio needs to the CM Coordinator.
•Inform the Coordinator if someone did not show up for their scheduled date, or if there is need for more (or less) personnel due to changing numbers of children.
•Be part of the Ministry Team (come early, stay late to clean up, arrange for replacements from the approved list of Back-Up personnel if you are unable to be there, etc.)
