Description

Volunteers work along side the ROP Staff by prayerfully pursuing redemptive friendships with the Spark program kids in a team atmosphere allowing long term relationships to grow organically.

We accomplished this by consistently being there for them on our scheduled night excited, ready to listen or play a game; developing a strong sense of safety and family for the kids; and helping to establish a sense of team-work and family amongst the staff and volunteers at ROP.

Requirements:
Responsibilities:
1. Pray for Ministry, Staff, and Volunteers working together in the mission field.
2. Prayerfully pursue redemptive friendships and activities with Spark kids in a team effort to have a ministry of presence at ROP.
3. Arrive on chosen night every week, on time, and ready to go!
4. Perform opening set up and closing clean up procedures.
5. Communicate with Lead Volunteer and/or ROP Staff about absences, needs & ideas as much in advance as possible.
6. Cooperate with their direct supervisor and respect the authority of the staff which is there to guide and protect you and the ministry.
7. Promptly read ROP staff emails, newsletters, and all mailings from ROP!

Time Commitment:
* One time 6 hour training session and background check before working directly with the children.
* Agree to volunteer one night per week for one year.
* Monthly team meeting for 2 hrs every last Saturday of the month.
* Any special training seminars, with prior notice given in advance.
* A one-to-one ministry meeting with staff once a year.

>>Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend Prodigal events and Special events. Events are a time to get to know the kids, other volunteers, and build deeper relationships.<<

Special Qualifications:
* Creative & patient, with good communication skills with kids, and some experience with conflict resolution.
* Open to learning & developing gifts, talents and skills within the ministry, as well as your own walk of faith in other aspects of your life.
