Description

Welcome a refugee into their new home by providing a "Welcome to America! Pack". This is a great opportunity for your church, work or extended family to get involved in helping a refugee family. The items (new or gently used) can be collected in advance and delivered to the refugees' new apartment when it is ready. Refugees are forced to leave their homeland, and starting life over again is very difficult. People are needed to show love and care and help to provide basic necessities upon their arrival!

Refugees need friends to lean on during their first few days in America. Refugee families arrive tired, worried, and in need of someone to help them face the challenge of starting over. The "Welcome to America Pack" is that tangible presence. A "Welcome to America Pack" is a basic survival kit given to a refugee family when the family arrives in the United States. The "Welcome to America Pack" consists of small, essential household items for a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen plus the family's first month's supply of food staples.
