Description
Previous volunteers have invested in youth and the community mainly through our after-school program by working on multi-media social justice projects with youth, gained leadership and communication experience through teaching their own workshops of their choice, running programs (including our lively summer off-track program), being involved with Young Life, administration, fundraising, marketing and PR, and tutoring in homework lab or one-on-one. We can tailor the internship to what you'd like to experience.
Requirements:
Intern should be self-starters, have an interest in education, youth, be willing to learn, follow directions well. We currently need interns that have 1 (ideally 2) or more years of experience working with middle school and high school students and can take initiative in engaging with students. The self-direction skill will be needed for mentoring/encouraging kids, initiating playing board games, pool, air hockey, etc. Intern will also help program coordinate and would ideally lead workshops in areas they are comfortable in (music, financial literacy, sewing, art, sports, etc.)
TB test within the last 6 months, fingerprint, and Live scan
