Description

Help MTO counsel over 10,000 tenants a year on issues of evictions, foreclosure, repairs, essential services, lockouts and more...

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Listen to tenant issues
• Assist callers in developing a strategy to solve their problem
• Refer tenants to appropriate agencies
• Send out written materials to callers
• Maintain knowledge of current laws
• Identify potential members, volunteers and building organizing opportunities

Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Ability to learn and become familiar with Chicago’s residential tenant laws
• Ability to clearly communicate tenant laws to a wide variety of people
• Willingness to help MTO fulfill its mission
• Strong active listening skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong problem solving skills
