Description
With the first signs of Spring upon us, we anticipate the warmer days, budding trees and growing flowers. However, for low-income seniors and adults living with disabilities, the yard work is a daunting chore that can quickly become overwhelming and unruly. Unable to do the work themselves and unable to hire the services, these individuals struggle to keep their yards in shape.
Volunteers are needed to lend a helping hand.
Each home is different. Some elders need weekly help with mowing. Others could use a few hours of weeding, while a few love to grow veggies in their garden but need help with soil prepping and planting. Great opportunities to help a neighbor in need exist for single volunteers, families and/or small groups.
Share your love of the outdoors with someone in your neighborhood who could really use the help!
Requirements:
Volunteer Chore Services is a program of Catholic Community Services committed to helping low-income elders and adults with disabilites remain independent in their own home through a network of caring community members. Due to the vulnerable nature of our clients, we require a Background Check, 3 Personal References, an an orientation before you get started volunteering.
