Description

We are looking for transportation helpers, dinner parents and mentors. Transportation helpers can get to know a scholar on the way to play rehearsal or an appointment! Dinner parents prepare a meal for the house and may drop it off or stay and share the meal with the family! Mentors offer guidance, trust, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the scholar. Positions available at our Baden and Coraopolis locations.

Weekly, biweekly, monthly, bimonthly, occasional or one-time commitments welcome. Kids and teens are welcome to prepare a meal for the scholars, but we prefer on-site volunteers be 18+.

Girls Hope provides a well-balanced, nurturing home and quality education through college for academically capable girls. We serve children between the ages of 10-18 who are at risk due to poverty, neglect or harmful neighborhood conditions.

We give girls a foundation for success by addressing their basic needs and providing enriching opportunities that build confidence and self-esteem. Our focus on academic achievement through college creates a strong foundation that builds a future of hope and opportunity for our girls. Our full-time house parents and other staff serve as role models by providing guidance, discipline and love, instilling values, and encouraging respect and Transportation helpers can get to know a scholar on the way to play rehearsal or an appointment! Dinner parents prepare a meal for the house and may drop it off or stay and share the meal with the family! Mentors offer guidance, trust, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the scholar.

Volunteers and mentors, except for those interested in dropping off meals, must obtain criminal background checks. Please contact the Community Resource Coordinator for information about getting involved at Girls Hope!
