|
Description
HBC is an outreach program that helps those infected and affected by HIV.
Home based care ‘HBC’is very similar to any health care facility only that patients are cared for in their homes/houses by their family members. Our centers serve as monitoring units where medical volunteer workers, social workers and nursing staff are dispatched to various homes to do counsel and evaluate the families who are taking care of the patients.
Our main programs are located in KenyaÂ’s Kibera and Mathare slums and other rural areas. HBC's main activities include; pain management, basic nursing care for terminally ill patients, HIV/AIDS education, support to families, teaching primary care givers, counseling and nursing procedures.
