Description
Hogar Immigrant Services, a program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, is seeking volunteers to teach English one evening a week for two hours. Our fun loving team of over 275 volunteers taught survival English to nearly 3,000 immigrants last year. We are now recruiting volunteers for our ESL classes that will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas this fall. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday nights-- just pick one day to teach on a weekly basis.
Requirements:
You don't need foreign language proficiency or previous experience. Just bring your smile, talents and compassion for others. Hogar volunteers attend a six hour training, and are given a teacher's toolbox of games, activities and resources and an easy to follow teacher's guide.
