Description
Hogar Immigrant Services, a program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, is seeking volunteers to teach English or Citizenship one evening a week for two hours. Our fun loving team of over 300volunteers taught survival English to nearly 3,000 immigrants last year. We are now recruiting volunteers for our ESOL and Citizenship classes that will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Sterling this winter. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday nights-- just pick one day to teach on a weekly basis.
No experience is necessary as training and materials will be provided.
Come help out your community by teaching adults English!
Requirements:
You don't need foreign language proficiency or previous experience. Just bring your smile, talents and compassion for others. Hogar volunteers attend a six hour training, and are given a teacher's toolbox of games, activities and resources and an easy to follow teacher's guide.
