Volunteer Abroad at Escuela de Guayabal - Classroom Support - Costa Rica

Description
This school needs volunteers because it serves a poor community and does not receive a lot of assistance from the government.
The volunteer Class Support teacher will be responsible for moving between all classes, and organizing and facilitating lessons and classes for children of various ages in the school.The school is looking to support skills such as painting, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and weaving for its students. The volunteer could find community members to come in to teach traditional arts as well. This person will need a high degree of creativity and passion for the home arts.
The school works Monday to Friday, in two shifts, from 7:30-11am and from 11:30am-5pm. Volunteers could work either or both of these shifts.
Requirements:
Volunteers must be stable, motivated, and have experience working with younger children.
Volunteers should be caring, eager to take initiative, and enjoy working with children.
Those who do not enjoy working with children may have a difficult time on this placement.
