Theatre Action Project Needs Superstar Arts-Based Volunteers!
|
Description
Interested in learning more about TAP's after-school and community-based programs? Want to make a difference in the lives of Austin area youth? This is a great opportunity for students of many disciplines: theatre, art, social work or education!
TAP is currently looking for volunteers to assist our talented Teaching Artists at a Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) site. This entails a once a week commitment in a dynamic after-school class exploring social themes through theatre, art, music and drama!
TAP Teaching Artists will be working with one superstar volunteer (that's you!) every Friday afternoon throughout the Spring semester beginning January 20th thru mid-May at a HACA site. Students and teachers work together to create performances, parades, murals, and other exciting arts-based projects. The sky's the limit! This is a unique opportunity to flex your teaching skills with Austin area students!
You will receive an in-depth volunteer orientation with the After-School Program Volunteer Coordinator and TAP'sHACASite Director. Orientations will be held at the TAP office located at 701 Tillery Street, 78702. Please contact Cassie Swayze at cassie@theatreactionproject.orgor (512) 442-8773, ext. 109 for more information or to schedule an orientation.
