Description

Ghana is a country of dramatic change and optimism, which is reflected in the schools in which we work. Though they are often over-crowded, understaffed and under-funded, a real enthusiasm and a hope for the future seem to permeate through the students. It is going to be hard to maintain this as more and more skilled teachers continue to leave for EUROPE and AMERICA in search of lucrative teaching contract, because of this we welcome any assistance from volunteers to teach basic causes like English, French, Computer, Mathematics or Science from pre-schools, primary, junior high or senior high schools.
You donÂ’t need qualification to be part of our teaching project just basic knowledge of the subjects, you can volunteer for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of 12months.Your contribution will go a long way to make a difference in a Child's life. You donÂ’t even need to speak the local language where you are volunteering. The program is open to all volunteers whether you are on a gap year, at university or wanting a career break. All we require is a good standard of spoken English. You will find a warm welcome awaits you from our students,Usually you will teach about 18 hours of conversational English lessons per week. You will also need to take time to prepare your lessons, and correct your studentsÂ’ work. Many volunteers choose to help out in other areas too, helping students with extra-curricular activities like sports, drama or music lessons.
Teaching Plus is a program where you can participate in one of our teaching projects across a variety of subject areas. You might want to help teaching sports, teaching music, teaching art, teaching drama, or another subject that you specialize in. You donÂ’t need to be a qualified or experienced teacher to join the program, and you are sure to receive a warm welcome from the schools we work with who are eager to have our volunteers.Teaching volunteer and student The schools we work in are generally poorly resourced but full of students eager to meet you and work with you. you will find that students and staff will be excited to work with a new person from another part of the world. You will often find yourself as something of a local celebrity! These programs run alongside our Teaching English and Teaching French programs. Some volunteers choose to combine teaching a language with teaching arts and crafts. Just ask and we will see if the school can fit the combination that suits you.
we provide affordable opportunities to people around the world who want to make a difference in the life's of marginalized women, children and the needy in Africa. We provide free accommodation staying with a host family, free project placement and support, what volunteers pay for is their plane ticket and food. This project ensure that that volunteers have a genuine and far more worthwhile experience than those of the average tourist and experience in-depth local community
