|
Description
Over population is one of the biggest challenges children in India face today. The Government struggles to provide healthcare and education to a growing number of children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, making them vulnerable to abuse and neglect, and a life in poverty. Your role will be to work alongside the local full time staff to assist in the day-to-day running of the orphan centre and school. Opportunities exsist to teach English, provide care for children, and help keep medical records and provide basic healthcare. Volunteers also have the opportunity to create awareness campaigns to inform the local community of the importance of education, health and other social issues for children. This role is suitable for a caring, self-motivated person who has a compassion for children and their welfare.
You will be involved in supplying children daily hot meals, feeding the starving and poor of the local area, provide clean and safe water drinking facilities through helping the physical construction of new well facilities in outline villages, distribute sports equipment, medicine, school supplies, blankets and clothing and help teach the children basic education through classroom and playground activities with the help of the staff.

The vision of this project is to see communities rejuvenated through education and having fun. By equipping and building up children to overcome all limitations imposed on them by social and educational disadvantage, through the adventure of discovering their individual abilities, love, value and self-worth.
The aim of the project is child welfare, with a specific focus on fun and education. The work specifically targets orphaned children and the surrounding areas of the orphanage, due to social and educational disadvantage. The aim is to provide purposeful activity in a caring and secure home-like environment in an attempt to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the children.
Millions of children worldwide grow up trapped in poverty, fear or despair; their lives stunted by abuse, war, HIV, homelessness or the loss of their parents. These children don’t need pity. They need physical and emotional security and the chance to fulfil their God-given potential.
This project was set-up to support orphaned children and their communities and ensuring they get an education, care and basic essentials of life. We care for children who have been abandoned by their families, and help to restore their lives.
