At HavenÂ’s Horses, our volunteers are our heroes. They play an important role in the lives of our riders and they are a vital part to the success of our program.

Reasons to be a volunteer:

Interact with special needs children
Be around horses and livestock
Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to work directly with therapy riders.

Haven’s Horses STARS – (Ages 14 and older)

Duties:

Lead horses for therapy classes (specialized leader training required)
Side walking with therapy riders
Prepare horses for classes

Requirements:
STARS do not need horse background, but do need to be willing to learn about horses and be willing to work hard.

STARS must be able to walk on uneven ground, run with a horse, and protect their riders.

STARS can come volunteer at hours that are available for their schedules.

STARS must represent Christian values in performance and attitude.
