Ref feral cordinator
|
Description
UYWEFA is seeking a Volunteer Referral Coordinator to manage referrals to and from partner organisations. This person will be vital in implementing UYWEFA’s mission “to provide holistic care to people affected by HIV/AIDS in the community of Kazo and surrounding areas.” In particular, UYWEFA is seeking a strong working relationship with A-Z Children’s Charity who are opening healthcare clinic for vulnerable children in June. The Management Committee has identified the clinic as an opportunity for our orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) to access free primary healthcare and HIV treatment which they currently cannot afford.
The role will involve identifying the most vulnerable people affected by HIV/AIDS in our community, identifying their needs, and referring them to the appropriate partner organisation. It will also involve accepting referrals to our recently established education centre and other activities according to agreed criteria. The Referral Coordinator will work with the Nansana NGO Forum to develop existing referral processes and establish strong partnerships.
UYWEFA has well established vulnerability criteria for children but the Referral Coordinator would be expected to contribute to the development of eligibility criteria for our adult programmes. The Referral Coordinator would also be expected to build other external partnerships such as with Paper4All (UYWEFA are currently an umbrella organisation) and contribute to the administration of the education centre, dance and drama group and other activities as and when necessary.
This opportunity would suit someone with experience of administration and looking to develop their partnership working skills. Candidates will need strong organisational skills; the ability to process information quickly and experience of identifying client needs.
Ideally, candidates will be available to work 40 hours per week (usually Mon-Fri 9am -5pm plus some evenings) but working hours can be negotiated in consultation with the management committee.
Language lessons and cultural orientation training will be provided for international volunteers. A home stay can also be arranged for a small fee. All volunteers will be able to access formal training sessions run by UYWEFA and partners, observing professional practice
