Description
Baraka technical college-orphans center is a registered non-profit organization based in Kenya, committed to community development; provide education and other services essential for the growth of needy children, particularly orphans, street children and at-risk youth.
We are in front line to delivering hope to the hopeless by providing Feeding, education, and alternative home to the homeless orphans, abandoned children in Africa equip them to fight poverty throw innovative skills in this pointing time of poor global economic systems.
We provide Vocational skill training to youth,Children education program Orphanage program HIV/AIDS Sustainable Agriculture, aggro forestry, Community service program Youth Sports & Activities program Women groups and others
These programs are primarily based 90km eastern of Nairobi Yatta district in a rural town called Sofia. Volunteers are typically placed at the orphanage or with the host families who live in the area. At both the orphanage and with host families, you will truly experience Kenyan life, culture and language. You will find that people here are very friendly and hospitable and I am sure you will enjoy serving with Baraka and the Kenyan community.
We arrange pick-ups and transportation from the main airport to the orphanage. Upon arrival, we offer free orientation for the new volunteers to become acquainted with the local culture, language and the project work. All our placements are safe and reliable and during your placement a representative will be regularly available to support and assist you.
Requirements
sleeping bags will help and other personal effects that you may need during the volunteer period in Kenya.
