We have a desperate need for Godly men and women to volunteer with us in this role. Every week we have literally hundreds of teens who write in and want to be matched with a mentor. Every week they wait for days to be matched, because we don't have enough mentors for teens.
Teens are at the cusp of adulthood but the majority of their influence comes from peers. As a teen mentor, you have the ability to become one of those peers and walk alongside of them. Teen mentoring provides an incredible opportunity for followers of Jesus to come alongside teens who want to discuss the issues that really matter to them. Each mentor can share God’s love in a relevant way and connect the teens to other resources wherever possible.
Through online mentoring, the hurting, the lonely, the confused, and the seeking are able to be matched up with someone who is able to mentor and disciple them. Mentoring through email, chat, discussion boards and blogs allows individuals the opportunity to interact with a mentor anywhere in the world as if they were sitting side-by-side. The anonymity of the internet opens the door to incredibly personal ministry - you will be amazed by the honesty
and openness that is possible in online communities.
Training will be provided to all new online mentors. For more details on online mentoring teens through TruthMedia, please visit our website:

Online mentors work from their own homes at their own pace. You are free to spend as much time as you're willing to share with us, but even an hour each week can change lives.
Requirements:
The application and training process are thorough and easy to follow. You can be trained and start ministering within a week. The only skills you need to become an online mentor are a heart for God and the ability to send an email. A Criminal Record Check is also required. Do you have an hour a week to help a teen?
Godly Encouragement: Mentoring involves a sincere desire to encourage others with the wisdom of the Bible. We actively pursue mentors who have a deep desire to share the love of Christ, and we realize that one cannot expect to show Christ to others if we are not engaged in a growing relationship with Christ ourselves.
Mentoring Goal: Our purpose in mentoring is to show compassion and empathy by our words of concern and acknowledgment of their situation.
Mentoring Role: Let them know that we are not counselors; our role is to point the people to helpful resources and to share the Gospel. We can carry their burden in prayer, but our real responsibility is to present the Gospel and refer them.
Mentoring Opportunity: The purpose for each e-mail that we send is to see this as an opportunity to point that person to Jesus and to help them find answers in the Bible. Acknowledge their feelings of helplessness, of losing hope, but point them to Jesus for a supernatural change.
Statement of Faith: Please read our Statement of Faith. It is important that you read it carefully to to ensure that you can agree with our foundation of belief. As you fill out the application form, please be sure to indicate that you have read the Statement of Faith and if you agree with it or not.
Pastoral Reference: A Pastoral Reference is required for each mentor. Please be aware that information will be verified through an independent source, and is required to complete your application.
