Description

We provide nursing internships in partnership with the Ghana Health Service (Awutu Senya District). Interns are assigned to specific hospitals or health institutions where they will have the opportunity to attend to different types of patient treatments, provide counseling and work alongside medical professionals. This helps the interns gain a deeper understanding of the global health differences.

Your role as a nurse intern will allow you to have regular interaction with patients and medical procedures. This position gives interns the chance to assist in different health delivery services including working with individual patients, recording patient data, physical exams, diagnosis, routine vaccinations, baby care, minor surgical operations, mental counseling services, assisting medical doctors in consultancy services, and many other issues which pertain to public health.

This is an opportunity to gain knowledge in different areas in the health sector and to effectively apply classroom knowledge to practical real-life situations and gain a deeper understanding in global health. The internship will allow you to shadow qualified nurses and other medical professionals within the hospital or health institution environment, and broaden both your theoretical and practical learning experience in the nursing field.

An intern can also become involved in our various community projects including HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis campaigns, basic health education to the public and local schools, and free medical consultancies to the villages. Interns may further assist in various research projects into certain prevailing diseases within the rural communities and finding lasting solutions..
