Missionary Teacher (4-month Intensive English)
|
Description
After two weeks of in-country training, missionary teachers are sent to schools in villages to teach a 3-month intensive course of English in order to prepare students who have just finished primary school (and who do not know a word of English) so that they can enter secondary school. The goal however is not simply to teach but to live in the village, become a part of the lives of the students and their families and to impact the community by participating in improving people’s health, sharing the gospel, and helping in community development projects. Our aim is to change life for those who live in villages across the continent, often with no schools, no clinics, and no hope of escaping from poverty. We believe that schools open closed doors to transforming a community. We provide training for teams of missionaries so they can serve effectively. Living and teaching in a small village in Africa is a tough job – but we believe it’s the toughest job anyone will ever love. A clearer picture of what is entailed is provided on our website at www.villageschools.org
Requirements:
No prior training or experience required. Village Schools International provides on-the-field training in how to live in a small village in Africa as well as in how to teach English to students who come into the classroom knowing no English.
