Description

Mentors are matched with a carefully screened recently paroled ex- offender who is receiving case management through TurnAround. Most clients have little or no support system and face many barriers in finding employment, transportation, affordable housing, and healthcare. Likewise, getting a state ID or a driver license for many of them is a very complicated process.

Mentors provide a prosocial relationship for clients who oftentimes have never had a positieve relationship. Mentors attend a six hour training in which they learn how to communicate with and encourage their mentee. Mentors help steer mentees in the right direction and help them make positive decisions with confidence and integrity.

Our mentors are people who have the willingness to connect with others, and the heart to assist one of the most vulnerable populations in the community.

Mentees have committed various violent and non-violent crimes but are working diligently to start anew. Please help us by volunteering your time to assist them in effectively re-entering our community.

Thank you so much for your interest in what we do here, without caring community members like you, a positive and productive re-entry for ex-offenders would be impossible.
