Looking for a way to give back to your community? Become a mentor for a senior at Mendez High School in Boyle Heights! Mentors guide the students in their college application process as well as preparation for graduation. It is an opportunity to share stories and personal experiences with the students, while learning about the students as well. We are looking for adults with a basic knowledge of the college application process, who are thoughtful, responsible, enthusiastic, and willing to build a positive and trusting friendship. We ask that mentors are capable and willing to commit 4 hours each month to doing activities with their mentees. In addition, an orientation will be held to help prepare mentors, and an event will be hosted by the program every other month for mentor/mentee pairs to attend together.
