Description

Trusted Mentors is a mentoring program to prevent homelessness. We form supportive relationships between volunteer mentors and people in local homeless prevention and re-entry programs in order to reduce the alienation of poverty and stress which makes becoming self-sufficient difficult.

We work with many of our most vulnerable citizens; who are one paycheck, one illness, one decision away from waking up without a roof over their head. Your willingness to be a supportive and encouraging friend may help an individual or family develop new skills to remain housed, which may impact generations to come. Are you willing to mentor to support a neighbor in need?

This is a great opportunity to share your skills and wisdom while helping someone develop the tools necessary to have a self-sufficient life. It will also benefit our community by reducing the number of individuals who become homeless, commit crimes, or re-enter prison.

Requirements:
Volunteers must be 21 and willing to commit 6 hours per month to help someone rebuild their life.
