Description

Each mentor is matched with three young people, ages 12 to 14 of the same gender as the mentor. We meet two Saturday mornings each month with the young people from 8:30 to 12:00. In addition each month mentors and staff meet together for planning and prayer usually after a Saturday session. Most sessions are held at Norman Thomas High School (111 E 33rd Street at Park Avenue, Manhattan).

A typical session will involve large group devotions, small group prayer, an interactive game or team building exercise, and a hands-on workshop designed to help the young people cultivate personal disciplines. Because we know that the mentor relationship is the true key to success in our program, between Saturday sessions mentors are expected to maintain contact with their proteges.
