House Parents
|
Description
Purpose: To serve as long term foster parents in a single family-style home and, while managing the resources of WGO, to provide individual nurture which facilitates physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development in at-risk children and adolescents placed in their home
Requirements:
Requirements for all House Parents:
1. Be willing to make their home at Rancho Ebenezer within the practical and policy constraints and in the standard of housing and lifestyle provided by WGO
2. Be attentive and available for their foster children according to an approved schedule (example below)
3. Adhere to WGO policy and procedures with regard to managing resources and the children in their home
4. Complete assigned training, attend in-service training and attend staff meetings as directed.
5. Apply training principles in the home and while supervising WGO children outside the home; cooperate with Treatment Team personnel to incorporate specific parenting strategies as assigned
6. Personally supervise and insure appropriate supervision of every child in their home unless that responsibility is reassigned by policy or the CS Director (e.g. during furlough, scheduled days off, etc…)
7. Support and intentionally take part in the individual development of each child in the home and facilitate their involvement in school, family, community, church and culture.
8. Comply with internal policies and directives to maintain home and vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner.
9. Be cooperative with WGO coworkers, maintain social relationships according to biblical principles and resolve conflict according to biblical teaching related to reconciliation with fellow believers in Christ.
