Description

Homework Helpers assist 1-3 elementary school students per session with their homework and academic enrichment activities. No experience or special skills are needed to be a Homework Helper.

Homework Helpers generally work with students one to two days per week from 2:45 - 5:30pm, but are welcome to help with just one session either 2:45pm - 4:15pm or 4:15pm - 5:30pm if availability is limited.

We ask Homework Helpers to meet with our director, Ana, for a brief orientation prior to their first session and to complete an application and a simple background check (ages 18 and over) for the protection of our students.

Requirements:
No special skills needed, just basic reading and math, a heart for kids and a bit of patience. Homework Helpers are expected to commit to one or more days per week either 2:45 - 5:30pm, 2:45pm - 4:15pm or 4:15pm - 5:30pm. Completion of our volunteer application and background check (for 18 years or older) are required. The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 16.
