Description

Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity has three different projects weÂ’ll be working on this year including: Rehabs, A Brush with Kindness, and New Construction.

Rehabs (Currently in Progress/up to 15 volunteers per day)- Repair the structure and replace materials on the interior and exterior of existing homes. Rehabs are held to the same high standards as new construction.

A Brush with Kindness (Starting April 2011/up to 25 volunteers per day)- Exterior repairs and painting for low-income homeowners. All projects are owner-occupied.

New Construction (Starting May 2011/up to 25 volunteers per day)- Home for approved Habitat families built new from the ground up.

We're opening up the calendar to volunteers who would like to plan a volunteer day in advance! If you arenÂ’t able to volunteer on a work-site there are several ways to get involved! We are seeking willing volunteers to donate lunches, snacks, and drinks Tuesday-Saturday from 8-4 p.m.to keep our volunteers fully hydrated and healthy! There are also several volunteer committee opportunities available.

If you are interested in helping out in any of these ways an would like more information please contact Tierra Benischek, volunteer coordinator at volunteer@cvhabitat.org or 319-366-4485.

If you call after hours and canÂ’t reach a staff member we have added a few extensions to get this information. This will be great information to keep a hold of when construction starts and that Iowa weather interferes!
