What is the problem the project is addressing? Children are a particularly vulnerable group within severely poverty stricken communities and deserted families. About half of the orphans have lost one or both parents to AIDS and abandoned children have no parents to provide basic needs, with the majority of these children living in child-headed households or with elderly relatives. These vulnerable families, who have little or no access to education services are Joyland's beneficiaries. Joyland serves 12 impoverished communities in Mombasa, Kenya. How will this project solve the problem? Provide holistic support to child education for orphans, abandoned and poorest children in the communities; Provide vulnerable children with school uniforms and stationery; Provide at risk school learners with additional support with their learning; Provide Social support, assisting with accessing scholarships, grants and care. Provide a sustainable accommodation, food source and medical for the children through the our orphanage; What is the potential long-term impact of this project? We are contributing to building a future generation of well adjusted children in poverty stricken, surrounding communities in the hopes that they reach their full potential and self reliance What do we need to assist children better? The school needs funds to fill budget gaps to maintain academic quality through building classrooms
