Department: Basic Needs Program - Emergency Services Position: Food Pantry Volunteer Supervisor: Emergency Services Coordinator Report to: Emergency Services Caseworker Objective: To provide assistance in unloading and organizing product for the Food Pantry Specific Tasks: Unload and stock food products onto shelves Unload and stock food product into freezer/refrigerator Dispose of trash and cardboard boxes as needed Assist Food Pantry Caseworker as needed Time Commitment: Our pantry is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., even during the lunch hour. We are in need of volunteers who can commit to working at least one 4-hour shift per week. Volunteers are needed all five days during all open hours, but the greatest need at this time is on Mondays and Fridays. General: In order to ensure the well-being of The Salvation Army Booth Family Services clients, volunteers, and staff, a comprehensive volunteer information packet will need to be completed. The process includes background and reference checks. Orientation and specific training will be provided by The Salvation Army Booth Family Services staff. Volunteers will be given the opportunity to help in other areas as they become available. Requirements: Good communication and organizational skills Ability to lift minimum of 30 pounds Positive attitude Legible writing
