Description

TreeHouse Finance Volunteer works with the TreeHouse Director of Finance & Operations, Staff Account, and other TreeHouse staff to provide valuable assistance on corporate finance projects including: payables, donation processing, and filing.

Areas of Accountability
•Accounts payable (A/P) invoice entry
•Writing of disbursement checks and preparation of check packages for signing
•Entry into Excel Spreadsheets (monthly EFT spreadsheet, cash flow worksheets, etc.)
•EFT Donation Processing
•Staff Contribution reports through Access updating MPD Target sheets
•Prepare 1099s for applicable vendors in January
•Filing

Requirements

•Must believe in the work that TreeHouse is doing in the community and be able to articulate that belief to others.
•Basic accounting knowledge- Associate’s Degree in accounting would be helpful
•Ability to maintain confidentiality (background check required)
•Reliable (shows up at agreed upon day/time)
•Time required: 5-10 hours per week (more hours at the beginning of the month)
•Ideal day: Wednesday for A/P invoices & flexible for other tasks
•Accurate and detail oriented
•Proficient in Excel
•Basic understanding of Financial Edge software would be a plus

Training Available:
•Training would consist of about 3 hours including a brief understanding of TreeHouse’s chart of accounts, general accounting skills, Financial Edge, and Excel
