Covenant House International is looking for energetic, service-oriented college graduates to join our Faith Community service year. Covenant House is North America's largest privately funded organization working with homeless and at risk youth. We offer a fantastic opportunity to work with a world renown nonprofit at the forefront of ending youth homelessness.


Faith Community offers people the opportunity to serve the homeless youth of Covenant House; live in a community living setting with other service members; and to spend time in daily personal and communal prayer/reflection.


Furthermore, we offer our Faith Community members the following benefits:
- Room and Board at a house located away from the
Covenant House shelter
- Multiple living stipends (grocery, hygiene, $500 vacation
stipend, $1200 end of service award)
- Loan deferment of most loans
- 2 community retreats


Faith Community currently has 4 placement sites available for volunteers:

New York, NY
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Anchorage, AK
Atlantic City, NJ

Covenant House is a non-profit agency providing crisis care, food, shelter, clothing, medical services, counseling, transitional living, substance abuse prevention and treatment, mental health
services, educational opportunities, vocational training and other services to homeless youth under 21 years
of age. Faith Community is a full time volunteer program where individuals can spend 12 months serving the youth of Covenant House while living in community together.

Requirements:
-21 years of age or older

-College degree or commensurate life experience

-Emotional maturity and good health (medical exam required)

-Open, flexible, and joyful outlook on life

-Ready to serve at any site and in any position where there is the most need

-Applicants may be married or single (no dependents)

-Willingness to submit stories and/or photos about Faith Community experience to Covenant House

-Room and board (includes utilities, linens, basic hygiene stipend, transportation, and food)

-Medical and dental insurance

-Vacation benefits of 1 week/$250 stipend for 6 month volunteers, 2 weeks/$500 stipend for 12 month volunteers

-Severance stipend of $100 per month served, payable at end of service commitment

-Two community retreats per year

-Deferral of most student loans

-AmeriCorps Educational Award opportunity
