Description
Volunteers are needed to help with a wide variety of projects. Projects include checking products for expiration dates, ingredients and sealed packaging, re-bagging and/ or boxing items, labeling items and repackaging items. Hours: Monday - Friday 9a.m.-12 p.m., 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday 4 p.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 9a.m.-12 p.m., 12p.m.-3p.m.

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger through community partnerships in southwestern Wisconsin, serving nearly 141,000 people who struggle to put food on the table, including 43 percent who are children. Through food and financial donations and volunteer support, Second Harvest Foodbank acquires and distributes food to 350 partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters and meal sites, in 16 counties. From July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010, Second Harvest Foodbank distributed 8.1 million pounds of food. It is one of 200 affiliates of Feeding America, the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization, engaging our country in the fight to end hunger. Requirements:
No open toed Shoes.
No electronics (MP3's, blue tooth, etc.), tobacco use, food or drink in the warehouse. We have a break room that you have access to, but please label anything you bring.
The warehouse is kept at 60 degrees, so please dress in warm layers.
No children under the age of 12.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please do not bring in bags, purses, etc. We so not have a safe place to keep your items.
