Dwell Chicago Public Transit Policy Assistant 2011-2012

Description
Spend a year in intentional community serving the incredible city of Chicago. Use your education in public policy, business, government, civic planning or any other major to serve in direct service and work on systemic changes to better the lives of the local community. Discern your call to urban ministry. Use your skills, gifts, interests by matching them to the needs and gifts of the local community.
Requirements:
Chicago will consider applicants between 20-30 years old. Applicants must demonstrate a desire to serve in an Urban context and work in various levels of government and community development. Participants must bring a certain level of education or experience to be a part of the team of volunteers

Positions available are varied. The many areas are needed.

utilities, including internet and land line phone
local newspaper
groceries purchased together as a team
local bus pass (or gas money of $75 per month)
health insurance
monthly stipend of $100
4-5 retreats in the year
8-12 books for reading and group reflection
(sometimes there is access to a grant that helps to reimburse student loan payments)
