Description

WANTED: Christian Teachers
Preschool ~ Elementary ~ Secondary School

JOB DESCRIPTION

All Nations Christian Academy (ANCA), South Korea - (Preschool - 12)
Native English Speaking Preschool, Elementary, and Secondary School Teachers Wanted

Do you want to make your life count? Do you want to take part in a dynamic school ministry of training the next generation of Korean missionaries and discipling servant leaders? Here’s your chance to make a lasting impact in our next Joshua generation’s lives as we disciple our future global servant leaders.
1. About our school and the ministry
Our mission is to train up young people, especially Korean missionary kids (MKs), as well as evangelize and disciple local children according to the Word of God. We seek to provide well-rounded Christian education and to equip students to be radical world changers for Jesus Christ. We believe that teachers are to disciple as well as assist parents to disciple each student, so classes are small.

Classes are taught in English, using American curriculum from Christian and secular publishers. Our team has worked hard to create a unique learning environment, which differentiates ANCA from other schools. We don’t just impart knowledge, but we impart a godly life.

2. Qualifications
- Believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior and cultivate a personal relationship with Him everyday.
- Have a mission / discipleship mind, be flexible, willing to do more than the minimum job requirement.
- Hold at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- DO NOT need a teaching certificate, but preferably have professional classroom teaching or administrative
experience.
- Must be a native speaker of English: South Korea gives teaching visas only to citizens of the USA,
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and South Africa. To qualify, you must have had your education taught, in English, from at least high school level through university/college.
- Retired people are welcome.

3. Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction and other instruction services. About $42.00 p.m. allocated for supplies.
- Consult with and correct students’ behavior, as needed.
- Occasionally sponsor or supervise extra activities and programs.
- Serve at least 47 hours a week, including daily morning devotions, Sunday school, worship, and meals. This
may include teaching one or two 45-minute-ESL classes each afternoon. Time is provided during working hours for class preparation.
- Participate in English worship, Sunday school, and meal.
- Help others conduct Sunday school classes and/or help a team with community outreach.

A teacher wrote: “In my opinion, when compared to teaching in the public schools in the U.S.A.,
the workload and hours are much easier here at ANCA.” Corinna Gregg, Preschool Teacher

4. Salaries and Benefits
- Monthly salary - Won1,500,000 (Cost of living $300-$400 p.m.) MKs are given drastic tuition discounts, so we can’t pay as much as secular schools.
- Salary may be increased based on qualifications and job performance in succeeding years.
- Optional paid summer or winter Vision Trip as escort, plus 10 working days paid vacation per year.
- Vision Trips depend on the number of children registering.
- 12 or more paid holidays and six meals a week.
- Korean E-2 teaching visa for qualified persons; F-4 visa holders are welcome.
- Housing (furnished apartment) and shared use of vehicles.
- 3% Korean annuity tax is deducted from your salary (about W45,000 p.m.); Korean government can refund it when you leave Korea permanently.
- Korean Medical Insurance Union, which entitles you to the same rate medical services and prescriptions as
Korean citizens (Teachers & ANCA each pay 50% of W60,000 p.m.).
- Severance pay equivalent to salary for one month after completing a year of employment.

5. Contract Period
Two years. (Upon evaluation contract is extended for the second year and salary is increased.)

6. Starting Date
August 23, 2011 and thereafter. (Preschool teachers needed immediately.)
Korea now has about 20,000 foreign missionaries--second only to the U.S.A.--so the need to educate their children is growing. Because many of these children have been studying overseas in English medium schools, they cannot easily adjust to the Korean public school system; some want to continue their education in English.

With a simple life-style, a single teacher can live on $200-$300 a month here. You have internet access at school and in your apartment. Our school is located near Yangpyeong, a town that has modern stores and good Western type medical, dental, and chiropractic care. It’s about an hour by bus, subway, or train from Seoul. The area is pollution free and virtually crime free. In addition to our English worship services, our teachers can attend afternoon English worship services in Seoul’s mega churches.

7. If you are interested . . .
You may scan all documents mentioned below and e-mail them to: meshenaur@yahoo.com. We will then provide more details about the application procedure. (*See also web site below.)
1. Résumé with your birth date, education, job experience, and photo.
2. Transcript from College/University (scanned copy OK, but originals needed for Immigration).
3. Letter of reference from senior pastor on church’s letterhead stationery, if possible (e-mail OK).
4. Your testimony (how you were saved, spiritual growth, and your involvement in church/es and/or mission).
** Please provide your starting date, phone number/s, time zone, and preferred times to be called.

ALL NATIONS COMMUNITY CHURCH and CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

PURPOSE
All Nations Community Church and Christian Academy seek to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20 by winning the lost and disciplining believers to maturity (1 Corinthians 1:18-25). We seek to exalt Jesus Christ by winning and equipping believers in Christ, strengthening families, and transforming society for the purpose of extending the kingdom of God worldwide.

HISTORY
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I, send me!” Isaiah 6:8
After receiving a call from the Lord, Reverend Eugene In, Joseph In, and Dr. Ruth Eshenaur proceeded to plant a church and school in Yang P’yong, Korea in 2004. Their vision was to start a school that would minister to the needs of Korean MKs (missionary kids) as well as proclaim Christ in this area. With 80% of the population (Yang P’yong) unbelievers, this is a difficult feat. But through the grace of God, the school and church have gradually increased in number, so by 2010 the school had about 120 students enrolled, with 28 of these in preschool and less than 20 in the International School. By 2011, 17 Korean Missionary Students had enrolled.
Although most students who came to All Nations Community Church and Academy were unbelievers, God has used this ministry to change the hearts of many. Many parents when they first came were not open to the Gospel but as their children continued to attend, they became more receptive; some have even become believers and are active in the church!
As God blesses this school and as it grows, it is our hope that we would continue to live up to the purpose and root of this ministry—Christ Jesus.

STRATEGY
All Nations Community Church and Christian Academy have sought to use English as a tool to reach the unreached. The vision of this strategy is to first meet the felt needs of the people and then, as they become aware, meet their spiritual needs also.
Because Yang P’yong is still a developing city, many parents do not have access to the kind of English programs they would have in larger cities such as Seoul. In understanding this need, All Nations Christian Academy seeks to provide parents the English education they desire. Through these English lessons, opportunities are presented for teachers to share the gospel with students and families who may not have heard it otherwise. All staff members, as well as most of our curriculum are Christian (except for some textbooks). Ultimately, our goal is to impact the lives of our students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may in turn, be able to share that same impact with their families.
All Nations Community Church also shares this strategy in our Worship Service and Children’s Ministry. English Worship Services are conducted every Sunday morning before Korean Worship. Although the English Worship Services are primarily to meet the needs of our English speaking staff, they are also open for the community as well.
After English Worship Services, English teachers, Korean assistants and children move to a separate location for Children’s Church. Children’s Church is conducted in Korean and later in English with Korean assistants there to translate for deeper understanding. The heart of the Children’s Ministry Staff is not that the children learn how to speak English but that they truly come to understand the Gospel and the Biblical Truths of God.
Following Children’s Church, the children are separated by age groups for Sunday School. Sunday School classes have an English instructor and may have a Korean assistant. The purpose of our Sunday School program is to develop relationships with our students that will lead to salvation, discipleship, and growth.
Parents are invited to join the Korean worship service during the conduct of Children’s Church and Sunday School. There they hear the Gospel.

FUTURE VISION:
As All Nations Community Church and Academy grow, we hope to develop more ways to reach out to this community. We have already won many to Christ through summer and winter camps, VBS, and special programs such as an Easter Festival, Christmas Celebrations, Ezemiah VBS, etc. Our dream is for all of Yang P’yong to know Christ as its Lord and Savior. In doing so, we specifically want to develop our English Worship Service into a more open service where all can feel free to join. In addition, we hope to develop an English Sunday School program for adults. Again, we want to utilize the English language as a strategy to draw people into knowing the Lord.
Furthermore, it is our belief that All Nations Community Church and Academy exist to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ. The church already supports mission ministries in Mongolia, China, and India, and it plans to support a couple involved in Bible translation in Siberia. We hope that we will eventually be a support base for more missionaries and sister schools in other countries.

This cost includes:

We have ESL camps for 3 weeks in August and January each year. Volunteers will be provided room and board but should provide their own round trip air fare. The camps teach English and evangelize the students in order to win them and their families to Christ. Our church, All Nations Community Church, has grown through this kind of outreach so that 90% of the members are new Christians won to Christ through our day school, All Nations Christian Academy, and through our camps and small group Bible studies in homes.
