Description

PCA is seeking volunteers OR students who wish to receive credit(s) in exchange for working with the PCA community. Applicants may be in high school, pursuing an advanced degree, or have earned a degree. Candidates who have completed their degrees are preferred (not mandated) to have majors in: (Early) Education, Music Education/Therapy, Physical Education, English/Creative Writing, Math, Sciences (computer sciences) and the Arts/Fine Arts. Other desirable skills include: arts & crafts, double dutch, story reading/telling, and dance.

Each volunteer will help assist with our after-school enrichment programs. They will be assigned to a specific club (see listings below ) under the supervision of an instructor and the program coordinator.
The hours of operation for the after-school enrichment program run from 3:30 pm - 5 pm (Extended Care is until 6p).

The clubs/activities we are offering are listed below:-ELA Club-Language Club (using Rosetta Stone software), Basketball, Creativity Club, Students Embracing Cultures (cooking), Robotics and Electronics, Zumba, Karate, Music Class, and Dance.

Requirements:
Applicants need to be age 16 and up with a high degree of integrity and commitment as well as desire to work with youth in an urban setting. Applicants should exhibit the capability to work independently and with others and have working knowledge of one or more of the subject areas described above (preferably your current major/concentration). A cheerful disposition and love for kids is highly desirable!
