GREAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR 2012!! We believe that every child has the right to PLAY without worry, DREAM without boundaries and LEARN without limits. As with any successful volunteer program, we depend upon loyal and tireless individuals who devote their valuable time and energy to children in need.

There are several volunteer opportunities available at Arizonans for Children. Please visit our web site, www.arizonansforchildren.org , to get an overview for each program we have launched since AFC's inception in 2002. At this time my goal is to recruit creative volunteers for our Life Book program. To date, the Life Book program has experienced many successes due to selfless volunteers completing and presenting memory books to selected foster children. The pictures, memorabilia and stories collected by the volunteers allow these children to accept their life journeys with all the twists and turns they have experienced in their young lives.

Conduct research:

**Read the child's case file, collect information.

**Contact previous foster parents, relatives, caseworkers, etc. (phone calls, letters) Collect information; photos, letters, anecdotes, memorabilia.

**Meet the child and caretaker

**Access child's memories though his/her storytelling, photos, drawings

**Write narrative and create a scrapbook of child's life (All resources and material provided)

Requirements:
**volunteers must pass a background check, references and training before being matched with
a book recipient.

**2 hours per week (approximately) for nine months, most Life Books can be completed in
approximately 120 hours per volunteer pair.
