In 2001, environmental justice advocates and community residents filed suit to address the inequitable number air polluting facilities in their communities. They succeeded in demanding cleaner buses from the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) and reducing the number of garbage trucks housed in the neighborhood. |
