TOM’S OF MAINE:
COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS
Purpose: The community sponsorships will offer $20,000 each to five nonprofit organizations in order to enhance their community projects. A wide range of community projects are eligible for support, including environmental initiatives, health and human service programs, community events, etc.
Geographic focus: United States.

THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY FOUNDATION
Purpose: To support national and local black community-based organizations that are committed to civil and human rights, economic empowerment, and addressing the root causes of injustice. The Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations that primarily serve African Americans and/or whose board or staff reflects majority involvement by African Americans. Eligible organizations must be involved in community organizing, advocacy, and/or leadership development.
Geographic scope: National, with emphasis on Los Angeles and Oakland, CA; Chicago, IL; New Orleans, LA; New York City, NY; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; the states of Louisiana and Mississippi and other locations on the Gulf Coast.

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION:
FUND FOR A JUST SOCIETY
Purpose: To support organizations that use community organizing to bring about systemic change leading to a more just society and mobilize with those who have been disenfranchised and excluded from resources, power, and the right to self-determination. Consideration is given to projects that are less likely to receive conventional funding because of the innovative or challenging nature of the work or the economic and social status of the constituency.
Geographic focus: U.S. and Canada

NORFOLK SOUTHERN FOUNDATION
Purpose: To support nonprofit organizations that work in the following four principle areas: educational programs, primarily at the post-secondary level; community enrichment focusing on cultural and artistic organizations; human services that support basic needs; and environmental programs.
