TechMission Corps Program Assistant Director

Job Description

The Assistant Director will assist the TechMission Corps Director in implementing and supporting a nation-wide AmeriCorps program. This is a full-time position based in Boston with the following responsibilities:

·         Recruitment & Member Management

o   Recruits candidates for TMC program

o   Communicates with Sites about recruiting their own candidates

o   Interviews Member candidates

o   Assists with Member placement and termination

o   Maintains Member and Site contact lists

o   Enrolls and exits Members from WBRS

o   Collects and monitors Member timesheets for accuracy (procedure & hours)

o   Maintains Member files

o   Submits and monitors ASRM health insurance (enrollment and unenrollment)

o   Enrolls Members in AmeriCorps childcare coverage

·         Training

o   Assists in the development and implementation of all Pre-Service Orientations

o   Develops training plan for monthly Member trainings for all cities

o   Assists with training at monthly Member trainings for all cities

o   Assists with Site Director training

o   Sends reminders for monthly Member trainings

o   May assist with training Members & Site Directors in outcomes tracking and reporting

·         Programmatic

o   Maintains resources for Directors and Members (webpages, newsletters)

o   Coordinates TechMission Membership benefits

o   Ensures TM Membership for Sites

o   Works with Sites to implement use of TM Membership

o   Assists with other TechMission projects as necessary

o   Attends AmeriCorps and other conferences, as appropriate

·         Fiscal

o   May assist in the development of the TechMission Corps & AmeriCorps Budgets

o   Assists with monitoring & collecting Site fees (match and high pay-rate)

o   Orders Member gear and other program supplies

·         Grant Management and Outcome Measurement

o   Assists with AmeriCorps grant re-compete application

o   Participates in meetings with partners to strategize

o   Participates in Site Director conference calls

o   Schedules and performs in-state Site visits

o   Assists with performing out-of-state Site visits

o   Assists with ensuring that all appropriate paperwork is submitted from Members

o   Assists in the selection of TMC Members and TMC staff

o   Assists with grant reporting

Qualifications

Individuals applying for this position should have strong organizational skills and ability to be detail oriented. Individuals should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, the Internet and strong typing skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint is desired. Previous management, project management or administrative experience is desired. Background and experience in working with diverse urban populations is strongly desired as well as experience in working with churches, Christian communities and in urban ministry. This is a salaried position (plus benefits) based on experience and qualifications.
