TechMission Receives $10,000 from Verizon Foundation

The Verizon Foundation is partnering with TechMission Boston to address the advancement of K-12 education, specifically using technology tools such as Thinkfinity.org for after-school program Sites.

Application for Subgrant to Receive a TechMission Corps Member

If your organization would like to apply to become a TechMission Corps Service Site and host a TechMission Corps Member, you may fill out a TMC Site Application. TechMission Corps receives grants to provide funding for full-time AmeriCorps members including a stipend of $11,400, health insurance and a $4,725 educational award.

TechMission Withstands and Helps in the Economic Downturn

As we face the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, urban ministries are facing a great increase in demand for their services at the same time their budgets are being cut.  In a weakened economy facing astonishingly high unemployment rates (6.5% in October, ½ million jobs cut in November) many new people are falling into homelessness and nonprofits are facing the true essence of fear, wondering if they have the ability to continue providing services, gain revenue and receive donations to reach their annual budget and help the world with its resources.  TechMission helps address this great need by connecting volunteers and low-cost personnel to provide millions of dollars of renewable resources to nonprofits.

Campaign Launched to Equip Churches for National Volunteer Month

ChristianVolunteering.org has launched a campaign and website to equip churches for national volunteer month this April and volunteer week on April 27-May 3. The campaign site provides a searchable directory of nearly 3,000 volunteer opportunities in 1,800 organizations to equip churches to volunteer in their communities.
