TechMission Becomes an Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) Member
WINCHESTER, Va. – The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) announced today the accreditation of TechMission of Dorchester, MA, a Christian organization committed to supporting Christian organizations in using technology to transform vulnerable communities.
ECFA accreditation is based on standards of responsible stewardship, including financial accountability, transparency, sound board governance and ethical fund-raising.
TechMission, www.techmission.org joins a growing number of churches and evangelical organizations across America, representing more than $18 billion in annual revenue, that have earned the right to display the ECFA seal. When an organization is accredited by ECFA, it demonstrates its willingness to follow the model of biblical accountability.
“We are pleased to include in our membership a ministry committed to providing resources to thousands of ministries which share the love of Jesus by serving the poor in His name,” said Dan Busby, acting president of ECFA.
TechMission uses technology and innovation to support Christian organizations to serve the poor through three areas: TechMission Corp which provides 40+ full-time interns to urban ministries; TechMission Online which places thousands of volunteers through ChristianVolunteering.org and provides thousands of articles and sermons on social justice through UrbanMinistry.org; and City Vision College which is an accredited online college focused on equipping Christians to serve the poor.
ECFA, founded in 1979, provides accreditation to leading Christian non-profit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, fund-raising and board governance.
