Summary:

 

This curriculum is designed for church leadership but is also applicable to faith-based leaders of grass-roots organizations who are ministering to low-income adults.  It is valuable for its financial management content, as well as for its biblical basis and practical use. The curriculum covers such topics as debt, giving, saving, investing, and spending. 

Helpful anecdotes and relevant statistics are consistently displayed alongside the lesson plans, which include suggested discussion questions and group interaction activities.  This resource also succeeds in translating complicated concepts and vocabulary into a basic comprehension level. Faith and Finances also includes helpful supplementary materials such as an appendix offering suggestions for working with participants who cannot read.

Hans Rosling: New Insights on Poverty and Life Around the World: TED 2007 Video

How would you like to wake up each morning looking at this?

What if you lost your job and were hungry, but didn’t have the means to go buy something to eat?

These photos were not taken in a third world country, they were taken right here in California. Since the crashing economic status, MILLIONS of people have lost their jobs, leaving many people a victim of a circumstance and homeless, helpless, hungry and needy.

Many people think, ‘but I am only one person, what can I do about it?’ But today, we need to come together as fellow Californians and do something- please come by the office or call me mon-fri 8:00am-2:30pm. I have listed some items below that I feel would be beneficial for those in need.
