Black Pastors Call for an End to Online Slumlords and Applaud MySpace Parental Notification

Black pastors from across the country are calling for an end to online slumlords. Bil Mooney-McCoy, a Black pastor and Director of the SafeFamilies program explained the issue, “Urban communities are always the first to be preyed upon. When social networking sites create an online community without adequate concern with safety, they are the online equivalent of slumlords. Slumlords make a profit while fostering unsafe communities that become a haven for drugs, gangs and perpetrators; online slumlords create online communities that are havens for perpetrators.”

Lifehouse - Everything skit

Who is the youth group that performed this skit? I have seen several videos like this that was performed to Lifehouses' Everything song; but this one is by far the best!

It has the best actors and it pulled my heart strings like nothing else in a very long time. It changed my way of thinking by confirming my relationship with Jesus Christ, my God, my Savior, my Friend, my True Love.

I would like to know who performed this video so that I can thank them.

Media Violence Affects Inner-City Youth

In our society, violence has become an aesthetic. Movies sell based on their gore factor, or their body count. The human body loses its sacredness as we are titillated by the carnage on-screen.

Those who have witnessed real violence tell a different story. The following essay asks us to recognize the desensitizing impact of media violence, and to envision an alternative way of art and life.
