ChristianVolunteering.org: Right for All Kinds of Ministries

May God bless you all." Abbe Joseph: A Priest Fights Poverty

Abbé Joseph lives in central Africa. Since his ordination in 1994, he has volunteered with several poverty-fighting ministries. ChristianVolunteering.org helped connect him to the Neo-Catechumenal Way, a Catholic order of evangelists.

As a member of the Neo-Catechumenal Way, Abbé Joseph went to East Cameroon to evangelize the Pygmées and to assist in community development. "Volunteering is a great solution [for] poverty," he says. It is "a way for believers to [share] God's life and discover how others people are living their faith in towns and villages all over the world." He wishes everyone could have the volunteer experience which he had.
