Summary:

The Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church is a network of pastors, laity, parishes, schools, and agencies. Their members aim to help those in bondage to alcohol or drug addictions to connect with spiritual resources that will aid in their recovery. The organization also seeks to provide a witness to Christ’s mercy by welcoming unchurched people in recovery into the Episcopal church; to raise awareness among the clergy; and to provide support to recovering Episcopalians.  It makes available information and ideas for accomplishing these goals, including multiple publications.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Episcopal churches and those of other denominations interested in ministering to those in recovery will find this site and the publications available through the Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church helpful.  Among the resources offered is a Recovery Sunday Resource Guide which details how a church can have a Recovery Sunday celebrating the deliverance from addiction that results from God’s grace.
